My Family

I have the most amazing family. Pictured here is the family photo current to our newest edition of my brother Calvin Wisen. I have truly the best brother lineup that I could have asked for. God has blessed me so much with the brothers I have. (don't worry sisters too... read on) My brother Drew (farthest left in the picture and politically ;-)) is at UofM dental school and is the star of the show. He has got to have the most passion I've ever seen in the 20somthing dental students. Ask him about dentistry and prepare to be amazed for an hour of interesting stuff. He's on fire for the Lord, telling me all of his awesome stories of sharing his faith with his unsaved dental school friends. It has been a HUGE joy to see him growing and thriving in his field. My brother Randy (farthest right in the picture) is the epidomy of "cool" in the computer industry. The guy knows his stuff and it has payed off. He and his wonderful wife, my favorite sister-in-law to date, Dana are the best hosts whenever I get to spend time at their sweet home. They are involved at their church and love the Lord and makes me honored to be their brother. And then there's Calvin (pictured in the middle, the groom). He was my best friend in highschool and long story short is now my brother. He has always been one of my biggest supports and will always be one of my best friends. I'm honored and blessed to have him officially apart of our family and couldn't think of anyone more fitting as my sister's husband. He is the youth pastor at a Harvest Bible Chapel in Orlando and as they move down their this coming week, it will be hard to say goodbye to locality and hello to a phenominal ministry ahead of them. I now have a connection in Flordia for my well needed vacations throughout the years!!!! ;-).
Then I have my sisters!!! My sister Mary (pictured as the bride in the picture) is probably one of the best friends i've ever had. People actually thought we were dating at Moody Bible Institute because we hung out so much. It was a common thing, seriously, to be asked, "who's your girlfriend, Chris?" and answer, "uh... that's my sister..." She is going to finish up her schooling down in Orlando and will be heavily involved at the Harvest Bible Chapel down there in their youth and childrens programs. She has a heart for the Lord and it is going to be hard for me to have her across the country, but her ministry is a blessing to see blooming! Dana (picture to the far right, was an awesome addition to our family a few years ago! We were always wondering who would tame that stallion of a brother of mine, and gosh, she did great. It has been a joy to get to know her and see her grow into our family. She is a fourth grade teacher and her students, no doubt LOVE her.
To top it off, my parents, Randolph and Lori, are the best. I'm truly spoiled and blessed to have them as my parents. My dad and mom are the biggest encouragement to me and have ALWAYS been there for me. I could continue on with so many more cliche' phrases, but know this. I could not have asked for a better set of parents who have been my spiritual advisors and the foundation of my growth here on this world. God is truly good for giving me such amazing parents.
I love my family.

Windshield Cracks

I just bought a new car. 2007 Ford Fusion. Get's great gas mileage, looks cool and works. It has a little chip in the windshield that I noticed right after I bought it. It wasn't any bigger than a smashed mosquito(best comparison for this season where they are reeking havoc outside). I had heard from a good friend of mine that those little do it yourself windshield crack fillers work well to stop the crack from expanding. I'm like... can't hurt, I'll give it a try. The first step is to stick this sticker "seal" over top of where the chip is. Step two is then to press on this little attachment apparatus that acts as a guide for the resin and creates then a pressure chamber for the resin to sink into the chip. Step two is what turned a simple fix into now needing a new windshield. I ever so lightly pressed this attachment onto the sticker, and in doing so, the chip turned instantly into a 5 inch crack that pointed now towards the middle of my windshield.
This morning when I got into my car, the crack had expanded to now two feet and is growing arms.
The thing that bugs me about windshield cracks is that whether it is a nice car or not, the crack is the first thing that people notice. The first thing that people think, or at least I do when I see one, is "gosh, they must not care about their car..." I don't know what it is about windshield cracks but it's more or less like having a bumpersticker on your car saying "look at me, i'm clumsy."
You could be driving a rolls royce and have a crack in your windshield and the first thing people will think is, hmm... wonder what happened... he fall asleep at the wheel, parked it too close to a playground... let his kid drive, what?
It's funny that a crack in the windshield portrays clumsyness when that injury is the most unavoidable thing. Cause you could be minding your own busniness and the tiniest little stone flings up and hits it and you're like... AHHH... crap... serious!!! serious!! People are going to think i'm an idiot!!
Well... I do feel like an idiot buying this brand new car and now having a crack traveling across the whole thing. I'll be ok... I think.

Tonsilectomy

Well, it happened today. I got my tonsils out.
I'm pretty sore and tired, so this blog will be pretty short.
I just wanted to thank everyone who was praying for me during the surgery and the recovery and also let the world know that I have the most amazing, sweet, and helpful girlfriend! She is making sure I drink all my liquids etc. My mom is also being a HUGE help with everything. They have me hopped up on some drugs for a while and it makes me really sleepy. So that's what I'm going to do right now.
Peace!

Under The Knife Tomorrow

I'm 22 years old. I like to be hip with the youngsters... So I thought I'd get my tonsils out! It's true... this is a procedure that is typically done to kids under the age of 10. The fact that I am older just means it going to be easier right? Wrong. The doctor, when I had a consult with him gave me prescriptions for liquid vicodin as well as phenergen. Everyone knows what vicodin is but what is phenergen? Phenergen is a nausea medicine. The doctor assured me that I wouldn't be nausious but this medicine chemically reacts with the vicodin in order to make it stronger! I thought to myself. If I'm going to need extra strength vicodin.... I better buckle up. My surgery is tomorrow at 10:10 am.
A lot of people ask me why I'm getting my tonsils out, but more often they're like, "what are tonsils and why do we have them if people just gank em out?"
Well I thought I'd do the liberty of researching from a very credible source: wikipedia

The tonsils are areas of lymphoid tissue on either side of the throat. An infection of the tonsils is called tonsillitis. Most commonly, the term "tonsils" refers to the palatine tonsils that can be seen in the back of the throat.

Like other organs of the lymphatic system, the tonsils act as part of the immune system to help protect against infection.

You can see in the picture where the tonsils are.
Why am I getting mine out?
Instead of telling you in this blog. I'll just give you the wikipedia link so as not to be held accountable of making anyone sick to their stomach except under their own consent of clicking on the link. So let that be a disclamer to you ;-)

"Moellerd"

Ok, so a lot of people ask me, if my last name is really Moeller, why does everyone refer to me as MoellerD? Here's the story.

A dear friend of mine, Landon MacDonald(pictured here to the left after watching "The Ring")(http://lalalandon.blogspot.com) along with a few counterparts decided on the way to a concert that they wanted to pull a prank on me and add a 'd' to the end of my name just to see how I would respond. (i wasn't even there, which goes to show they must have been bored enough to think about me to make up a prank) Apparently they gathered that I'm some sort of neat freak who has to have his name pronounced just right otherwise I'll freak. Well, long story short, he managed to get everyone around me at MBI to start calling me Moellerd and to see how I would respond.
Because since I obviously knew something was up, I approached a friend of mine, Luke Uran, and confronted him about it. He then spilled his guts and told me the whole plot.
The name stuck... and i'm now known as Moellerd. There are a few people, namely Landon's brother Luke, who use variations of the name: Mallard, Mollerp, Molford, etc. But I've grown a liking to the name Moellerd.
There it is. Moellerd

I'm Training for Hell's Kitchen

I've recently taken a liking of the show Hell's Kitchen with chef Gordon Ramsay. Gordon has actually become one of my heros now because of this show, but more so his show Kitchen Nightmares. It has become one of my goals in life to be able to cook and watching these two shows has really fired me up to try it out and learn more. So here's what I made for lunch (because I was going to be busy in the evening and possibly miss dinner, I made this "dinner dish" for lunch)
Here's what you see: Beef tenderloin wrapped in Bacon with grilled carrots, corn, and a tuna salad. Top it off with my dad's award winning homemade applesauce and a goblet of water = delicious. Very happy with this dish.
Peace

Everyone else has one, so why not me?

I'm an advocate of good peer pressure when I get a chance (see disclaimer below). So I have many many many friends who are into this "blog" thing. Most recently my close friend Steve Busch started his blog. I was like. I like this guy, he does this blogging thing, so maybe if I can be possibly somewhat on the right track of his social advances, i should get on this blogging bandwagon. So here it is: Moellerd's Blog.
You may be wondering where the name Moellerd came from... that is for a future blog for sure... and I have to give credit where credit is due on that one.
I hope that my blog will glorify my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that it will be entertaining and cause some to think, to laugh, to cry, an possibly even to act.

Alright... umm... i don't really know how people say goodbye on blogs.. is it like email with a salutation? Eh... who cares. when the words end, the blogs done...

*****disclaimer: before ya'll think i'm a crack addict... this is peer pressure for blogging specifically ha ha ha...
